Want to learn more about me, my photography and my videography?

I thought I'd start these articles by posting a little about myself.

I'm Holly, the owner and founder of WeddingSW. I'm the jack of all trades when it comes to owning your own business - the main photographer and videographer behind the brand - as well as all of the in-betweens that come with owning a small business in the UK.

I worked as a photographer and videographer in sporting and music events through to 2021, before focusing on the Equestrian world, taking on both personal and commercial customers. Through existing clients and recommendations, I began to accept wedding bookings, for both photo and video, and found I absolutely loved it.

Want to know why I love it?

I love telling a story with my photography and videography. The wedding day is an entire story, from waking up in the morning, to the ceremony, to everybody dancing without shoes on in the evening. It’s always different with every couple, and it’s one of the best stories you could possibly tell!

Making a connection with a family on their wedding day, helping everybody with their tasks and watching everybody together is so genuinely satisfying, I edit photos with a smile on my face remembering moments shared.

It’s varied. Venues change, weather changes, groups change. It requires quick thinking and reacting to the moment as it happens.

And definitely the speeches. Oh, the speeches.

I'm a huge geek when it comes to learning, both on the ground and in the editing suite, and love investing in the newest gear. I find days on my feet followed by days glued to the computer work really well for me - you'll often receive your photos earlier than expected because I've spent whole nights editing - the time just flies (much to the distress of my very understanding partner).

A wedding can be so daunting, the fact that you have to get everything right first time. I'm here not only as your photographer/videographer, but also to ensure that things run smoothly and to take some of the pressure off you and the bridal parties, so that you can enjoy every moment.

I think what makes my customers happy is the same as what makes me happy, cliche I know! I make sure that bride, groom, guests and family all feel like they have known me for years, relaxed in my presence and feeling free to enjoy their day and night. They trust me to take the shots without taking away from the day, and to be there when they might need an extra hand. I can't wait to start the 2026 season!
